It is Time to Plant Seeds for Our Fall and Winter Gardens

Time to Start Your Seeds for Your Fall and Winter Garden

The fall season is upon us, and it’s the perfect time to start planning for those colder months in the garden. I’ve always enjoyed the process of starting seeds indoors—it gives me a chance to get my hands dirty and dream about the delicious cool-weather crops to come. This year, I’m focusing on broccoli, kale, and spinach, which do really well in the cooler months.

Today, I’ve cleared off my kitchen table, laid out my seed trays, and filled them with seed-starting mix. There’s something so satisfying about getting those little seeds into the soil, knowing that in a few weeks, they’ll be ready to head out into the garden. By starting them indoors, I can keep a close eye on their growth and make sure they’re strong and healthy before the transition.

As always, I’ve labeled each tray to keep track of what’s what, and I’ve placed them in a sunny spot by the window. With a little care and attention, these seedlings will soon be strong enough to be planted outside, where they’ll thrive in the cooler temperatures. If you’re thinking of starting your own seeds, now is the perfect time!
